Lots more photos

I have uploaded most of the photos from the trip so far. They can be found at this link: http://web.me.com/kentchilders/missiontrip2010/RCofC_Impact_Mexico_Photos.html

We are getting ready to begin our last day at the job site. We'll paint, install bunk beds, put up window trim, and a take care of other last day items. Then, we'll pray with our family and present them the keys to their new house. Though smaller than our usual groups, the team has done a great job this week. Tomorrow, we'll go souvenir shopping and then return to California in the late afternoon/early evening.

Tuesday

Day 2 at the work site is complete. The roof is up Most of the drywall is up. Two rooms are mudded. We are building a house for a family of seven. But, we have found out that some extended family members may be moving in as well. There could be anywhere from 10 to 14 people living in this 20 x 16 foot house when we complete it.

We have a small team this year, only ten members. But they have done a great job working on the house, building relationships with the family, and working well with each other.

I had hoped to add a link to photos, but most of them will have to come once we get back to California. I have had problems connecting to the wifi at camp and am typing this from a computer at an internet cafe near the camp.

Our team has done well so far. God has definitely blessed us during the trip. I pray we can bless the Torralva/Comacho family.

Team Members: Mark these dates

Impact Mexico is now less than two months away. You can follow the countdown and trip updates at www.impactmexicorcofc.blogspot.com. Parents: you can also follow the progress of the trip (especially while we're traveling to and from Mexico) on Twitter at http://twitter.com/ImpactMexRCofC.

Please mark these dates as we prepare for the trip:

June 13--Our next Impact Mexico Team Meeting is at 9:30am, upstairs next to my office. This will be a brief meeting, but will have essential to prepare for the trip.
June 13--Is also the deadline for all balances to be paid for the trip. If you have questions about the final balance, please contact me before that date.
July 18--Special prayer service for the Impact Mexico team during both the 8:30am and 11:00am worship services. I am asking everyone (including Mechanicsville participants) to try to be present for both services that morning. You can leave after the prayer time of the 2nd worship service. All team members will be on stage during prayer time in a marked off area roughly the same dimensions of the house we will be building.

We still do not have information on our family at this time, but I expect to have it early to mid June. I will let you know as soon as we find out.

Impact Mexico Team Meeting--April 11

The Impact Mexico team will meet briefly upstairs next to my office at 9:30 on Sunday April 11 (or after the 1st service). It's the only location available that day. This will be a brief meeting but it will be important. Team members will receive their trip notebooks at the meeting. The notebooks will answer several questions about the trip as well as inform you of deadlines to record on your calendars. We will wrap up in time for Sunday School at 10.

Two teams from the Mechanicsville area are traveling to Yugo's Ensenada Outreach Center this Sunday. Please keep them in your prayers that they may have a safe trip and that God will minister through them this week.
